BAMBOOzled

Are you a bamboo shoot?

Please let me explain. 🤔

Bamboo takes up to THREE years to get its “root” system established BENEATH the soil.

Three years. 😳

It’s considered a colony plant, meaning each new growth depends on the health of the original plant. 🤢

Once established the new shoots emerge in the Spring and only grow for 60 days! Some are massive.

Can you imagine the patience needed to wait for the harvest? 🥱

New shoots will continue to get bigger and more numerous as the colony grows towards maturity, but each individual shoot has the short but fast growth cycle!

Wow.

Makes me appreciate the beauty and price of bamboo. 💰

Botanists, please forgive this oversimplified explanation of bamboo growth.

Moral of this story?

SLOW PROGRESS IS STILL PROGRESS. 🚀
